Profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and all the up and comers do not a Social Media and Marketing strategy make. Many companies set up and have profiles for the same reason that they have a website, because in this day and age, you’re supposed to. Unfortunately this is not going to get you anywhere. Having a site, or profile and being found are two different things. Many business owners have spent a lot of money on SEO only to find out that there are not enough searches for what they are selling for that strategy to make sense. Putting up profiles and letting them sit there has limited value and can many times do more harm than good. We’ve seen countless service industries with posts from customers looking for help or asking questions that go unanswered. Nothing upsets people more than being ignored. Managing these programs is time consuming and requires a dedicated effort. Social Media Strategies consist of 1) Setting up Profiles, 2) Building Followings, 3) Managing Interaction, 4) Promotion to and thru your following.
This can be accomplished in a number of different ways. Suffice to say however that without a following, there is no meaningful interaction nor promotion. We’ve all heard that on the Internet, “Content is King.” While that sounds good, how does that apply to Social Media? Without “content”, which is information about your company, your customers, your newest products, your employees, etc, you’re not relevant and there is nothing to point would be followers and customers to. You get “Bang” from your social media when invest into it and understand what it is. We are a company that can handle all four phases and in almost all phases do it more efficiently and cost effectively than you can do it in house. This is so for a number of reasons, but mainly because of the size of the network we have. Without reach there is no media.
